Thiruvananthapuram: Only when learning is coupled with efforts to foster creativity in children, does education become complete, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kerala A. Jayakrishnan has said.

He was speaking here on Monday at a programme organised to felicitate the university team which emerged champions at the south zone inter-university youth festival that was held recently at Sathyabhama University, Chennai. A syllabus comprising mathematics, science and humanities subjects is not the only source of knowledge and personality development in children. The camaraderie and maturity that comes with participating in cultural competitions is an inalienable part of education, Dr. Jayakrishnan added. The Vice-Chancellor distributed certificates to the team members.

According to a press release, the university team participating in the all India youth festival would leave for Nagpur on Tuesday.
