Alappuzha: A major disaster was averted at the Medical College Hospital, Alappuzha, after a gas leak led to a fire at the pathology lab on the second floor of the J-Block on Sunday. According to eye-witnesses, a gas cylinder leak led to the fire and the staff managed to take out other cylinders. Fire and Rescue Services personnel managed to douse the fire in 30 minutes.
